Dr. Jerry Wu at Georgia State University is conducting research trying to understand "Balance Control and Motor Strategy in children with Down syndrome".
If your child is between 5 and 11 years old and is able to walk, jump and climb up the stairs, you may be eligible to participate in this study.
Basically, your child will go to the lab ONCE to walk, jump, and climb stairs. The researchers aim to understand movement patterns in children with Down syndrome and hopefully use this information in the future to design effective intervention to improve their motor and cognitive function. The studies are observational, which is not invasive and does not use your child's medical record.
Participation will take about 2 hours of your child's time. The study provides $50 for the participation plus a free on-campus parking.
